Thin Time, a children's halloween fantasy.

Thin Time, Book One in my Taskbearer Series
In the Shropshire village of Tong, a bad tempered tomb dog called Fymm makes a mistake and chooses the wrong girl to be Task Bearer. Chased by gargoyles, Alice reaches the Green Lady’s cottage, receives the first of her three gifts, and learns that she must enter the Other World at Thin Time. Her task is to find the Green Man, bring back the New Year seeds before midnight, and prevent the world from dying. With her small stepbrother Thomas, Ratatosk the squirrel, Bridd the singing cockerel, and Fymm by her side, she sets out on her dangerous quest. Using the skipping rhyme password to enter the door into The Tree of Life, she travels into the Other World, knowing that she must overcome many obstacles, face the fury of Nidhogg the Snake-Dragon, and bring back the seeds before Thin Time ends at midnight. But does she have the one thing that will protect her in the Other World, a loving heart? For without this, she will never return, and the treasure, whatever it is, shall never be hers.

This sounds like the outline to a really sweet family-friendly story! I'm trying to create a mental image of the characters in my head... everything is in miniature!

What a lovely imaginative thought. If you write 'Tong Church Shropshire' into photobucket, that sort of site, you will see photographs of the church where the children are in my story, and where for many years I took groups of school children to work on their art, painting, history, stories, poetry, mapping.........
p.s. the book Thin Time is on Kindle :0) Good luck with your own novel writing.

This is wonderful. I see the mental picture so well in my mind.

I love your blog! You give me hope to becoming a published author one day. I love writing Young Adult Fiction and I'm a teacher for the little ones, so I'd love to write children's books as well.

Thank you for being inspiring.
