I've been tagged on the Blog Hop called the next big thing...

Tagged by my dear blogging friend, Joylene Nowell Butler, suspense author of Dead Witness and  Broken Not Dead, I'm pleased to present you with my version of THE NEXT BIG THING.

10 Questions about my Work in Progress:

What is the working title of your book?
Snakeskin and Failed Feathers (when I've finished the editing of my latest children's book River Dark)

Where did the idea come from for the book?
My years of studying theology and spirituality, and a need to reflect upon my own life in a humorous way. Probably my study of Paradise Lost is involved in this somewhere, and my love of the Don Camillo books perhaps.

What genre does your book fall under?
Humour, romance, fantasy, philosophy!

What actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
None, if I have to think of an actor I would find this inhibiting.

What is the one sentence synopsis for the book?
Adam's search for Eve through the centuries to continue the arguement over a snake and an apple.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
This will be my sixth book, my other books having been self-published and I would like to find a publisher so that I can concentrate a little more upon the writing.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
This has been written over a period of several years whilst I have published children's books.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
As this promises to be a comedy based upon my theology degree, I have no idea, apart from my love of humour and having read a short story with the Devil as the main character when I was about thirteen - can't remember the title.

What else about the book might pique the reader's interest?
I think the majority of western women would say that their lives have been affected by the biblical account of the Garden of Eden, and the resulting inferior position of women, and this is my humorous take on this subject. And the Devil as adversary. What an opportunity!

Who or what inspired you to write this book?
I am a lover of fantasy and having read many books verging on the slapstick, (and always having included some slapstick comedy in my children's books), I wanted to see if I could write this type of novel for grown-ups.

Now it's time to tag a few authors and see what their next big thing will be: (if your name's below and you'd rather not participate, not to worry, regards, Carole)

Diane Perry

This sounds great, I think a little humour in our writing is an excellent choice. Best of luck in finding a publisher.

Sounds like a really fun cook, Carole! I often think about that whole snake fiasco and how men pretty much do anything women want them too. lol

Agreed, PK, if it suits their purpose, sorry I cut my teeth on Simone de Beauvoir and Germaine Greer! :0)

Funny that your current WIP is about Adam and Eve. Mine is as well, but with a darker tone, with a strong focus on the relationship between the characters.

Maybe there is something in the air regarding Genesis these days.

Thank you so much for tagging me, Carol! It's an interesting meme. I've squirreled the questions away and will do a post on this some time. :)

I love your answers! I like how you are incorporating your studies and life into the story. Also humour! I'm a big fan of books that use humour within the mix.
