A Happy Christmas with Friends and Family to You All!

Wouldn't it be lovely to have known Ernest Shepard and to have received this card at Christmas. So magical. A great sadness is that many children never get to see the original Winnie the Pooh drawings by this wonderful illustrator, but I should be pleased that at least they are aware that Pooh exists. And as I recover from three weeks of feeling poorly, it is just in time to wish you all much love and A Very Happy Christmas! x

Dear Carole,

Such a wondrous illustration and Pooh exists in the heart of my inner child.

May you and your loved ones have a most peaceful and pleasant Christmas.

Hugs, Gary :)

My son's baby room was filled with Winnie-the-Pooh, including plaques with lithographs of original illustrations from the books.

So lovely. What a fantastic artist!

Your son was very blessed. Sadly, Shepard thought that his connection with children's stories prevented him from being truly recognised as a great artist.

I'm still struggling with that wretched cough that just won't go away, Carol, but so are so many people at the moment. I'm sure we'll do the best we can over Christmas and enjoy the special time, though sadly I expect I shall have to miss the Midnight Service. x

I shall be thinking of you and your son Gary and wishing you a warm and happy Christmas and a better year to come xx

Winnie has always been a favourite of mine, especially since Winnie came from Winnipeg, very near where I was born. I was probably 5 when I learned that, and I remember feeling so proud. It was like Winnie was a relative.

Merry Christmas, Carole. Thank you for all the joy you brought last year!

Happy Christmas! I'd have loved to receive a card like that. And the Santa Express looks like lots of fun!

Thank you, Deniz, it was cold and windy on that platform, but the children had a wonderful time, Happy Christmas. x

All the best to you, Denise, I must finish that sequel in 2013! Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a happy and successful New Year. x

The great Winnie the Pooh -- even as an adult I can still get into Winnie. One book I like is the Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff that my son gave me years ago. A good 2013 to you -- barbara

Happy New Year Barbara, I have often looked at the Tao of Pooh on the bookshelves. I shall definitely buy a copy.
