Writing River Dark, my first children's mystery adventure and fitting
the pieces together so that I don't leave too many clues, and so that is
still makes sense, has been a great struggle. Just writing historical
fiction is difficult enough without giving myself the added problem of
turning it into a mystery. I do admire writers like P.D. James, she

River Dark sounds great. I would love to write a mystery as I am a huge fan of that genre.
I am sure you will figure it all out and write a great book. You are good like that. Good luck.
It's the "seems" that's the key to your post. It's never really easy for anyone, I think.
So am I Rachna, I watch this on TV and read this type of book, but when it comes to plotting for myself I'm a novice. :0)
Thanks Murees, my American friend in Atlanta is helping me, I send my struggles with the plot and she leads me in the right direction.
Very true, Anita, slowly it is working out and it feels wonderful when this eventually happens. So different from writing my usual adventure stories.
Sounds like you've met the challenge admirably, Carole
Thank you Madeleine, with the critical comments from my friend in Atlanta I think it is now pulled together sufficiently for me to finish the book at last. :0)
I really admire those who write historical fiction. I read lots of historical suspense and mystery.
I wish I had the time to read historical fiction, Susan, I love reading it too. My favourite author is Anya Seaton. It's so frustrating not having the time to do anything other than housework and write. :0)
I can't wait to read it, Carole. Are you making it an ebook too?
Yes, Joylene, I have learned how to do this, very pleased with my new skill! :0) and shall eventually post it on Amazon. Thank you so much for your encouragement - as always much appreciated.
