| Simon Rattle! |
Really looking forward to this performance on Thursday. Two visits to the BCSO in a fortnight! Wish Simon Rattle was conducting, still can't have everything and Nelsons is a very good conductor.

Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 (Choral)
From tragic opening to climactic, world-embracing “Ode to
Joy”, Beethoven’s Ninth has never been just another symphony - it’s an
emotional experience with the power to change lives. Every performance
is a special occasion, but Andris Nelsons’ first Birmingham performance
of the Ninth promises to be in a class of its own, and a landmark in his
artistic partnership with the CBSO. This isn’t only an extraordinary
upbeat to our new season, it should be one of Birmingham’s musical
events of the year.

Would love to see Rattle with this Beethoven, but Nelsons is receiving rave reviews, Hilary. :0)
Sounds like a wonderful concert! Enjoy!
Thank you, Susan, have thrown financial caution to the winds and booked for the season. :0)

Sounds like a delightful concert. Intense and full of life. Enjoy, Carole, though I'm sure you will.
I am falling in love classical music, Mozart is my man of the moment. I am yet to truly appreciate Beethoven as I have not spent enough time in the company of his music.
Looking forward to hearing all about the concert.
Thanks for popping in, Maria. Good to hear you are enjoying classical music. If you want to experience Beethoven, try his 9th Symphony entitled Ode to Joy. That gives you some idea about the rangs of emotions. I just can't get my head round the fact that for most of his life he was stone deaf and continued composing fabulous music.
This is great!
Sounds wonderful! Always been a fan of Beethoven. ^_^
And would love to perform the 9th one day.
That would be wonderful, Misha, I'm sure you'll have the chance to do this one day.
Carole, I will seek out a copy of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Ode to Joy very soon. Thank you!
I do hope you enjoy this as much as I do, Maria.
